naomi smerdon

BSc Hons (Occupational Therapy)

Naomi qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2008 and gained experience in community rehabilitation, orthopaedics, medicine, and neuro-rehabilitation before specialising in hand therapy in 2015 when she became Team Lead for Rheumatology and Plastics Hand Therapy.

Naomi’s particular area of interest is hand trauma, as this offers the opportunity to work closely with both orthopaedic and plastic hand surgeons and utilise all of her skills and knowledge in the management of fractures, soft tissue injuries and advanced splinting skills. Naomi is a member of BAHT and has completed four level 2 courses as part of her progression towards hand therapist status.

Naomi is keen to develop effective clinical pathways for patients and to continually improve the patient experience and outcome from surgery to achieving their rehab goals.
