Mr Nick Rabey is a Plastic and Hand Consultant Surgeon based at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) since 2022. He was awarded degrees in the history of medicine and medicine at Cambridge University before completing junior surgical training rotations at Cambridge, Birmingham and Chelmsford. He earned an MSc in trauma surgery from Swansea before undertaking his senior plastic surgery training rotation in the Oxford / Thames Deanery, obtaining his FRCS(Plast) in 2017. 

 

He has accomplished further specialist training in hand and trauma reconstructive surgery by completion of an Advanced (TIG) BSSH Hand Surgery Fellowship at Oxford, Bruce Bailey travelling Trauma Fellowship at the Ganga Hospital at Coimbatore, India, Microsurgical Fellowship at Cambridge and Senior Royal College of Surgeons Trauma and Microsurgery Fellowship at Coventry. Nick has presented at national and international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to UK BSSH guidelines in the field of hand surgery.

 

Nick specialises in the reconstruction of complex upper and lower limb traumatic injuries including microsurgical tissue transplantation and nerve and soft tissue defects. In addition, he provides an elective and trauma hand surgery service for the management of conditions such as Dupuytren’s, upper limb tumours and nerve and tendon disorders. As an NHS consultant plastic surgeon, he is a major contributor to the skin cancer service at UHCW, Warwick, Stratford and Nuneaton.
